I was drowning in a sea of alcohol

But I did not spit it out, I drank from it

Spreading the poison throughout my body

I sank deeper and deeper

But I did not care anymore

But then a hand reached down and grabbed mine

It pulled me out of that vile liquid

I lay gasping on dry land

In time, my vision cleared

My brain started to heal itself

My body stopped shaking

My emotions returned to me

I turned my face towards the warmth of the Sun

And I could smile again

Now I want to be that hand

That saves someone from that awful sea
